Community Action Poverty Simulation:
ACC Student Leader
Oct 5, 2019 & Feb 15, 2020
Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is a unique, interactive experience designed to help students in the health sciences departments explore and understand the realities of poverty by simulating four weeks of life for a family with a small budget, limited time, and high stress, realistic set of circumstances. I served as a volunteer before and during the event helping to coordinating other volunteers and facilitating the activity.

Capital Idea Scholar:
Capital Idea is a scholarship program that expects participants to give back to their communities as a condition of the scholarship. I was a recipient of that scholarship and have worked with the program since. I’ve spoken on a panel as a student representative to prospective students, communicated with donors, and participated in career navigator sessions.
