I’m interested in the position as COTA in the inpatient rehab unit at Dell Children’s Medical Facility. I learned about the job through my fieldwork at Dell. I believe my passion and work ethic for this position are clear from my fieldwork. I love helping young people become independent and develop essential skills through creative play.
Before studying to become an OTA, I’ve worked for over a decade through all developmental stages from infant through young adults. As I’ve built my skills and experience I’ve found that my most exciting moments were when I was able to build a relationship with children through play, music, art, gardening, and other shared interests, to build report and help them achieve their goals and hit developmental milestones. I’ve planned and facilitated activities, curriculum, and interventions for young clients and students across a wide range of abilities, including physical disabilities, developmental delays, visual impairment, and other medical diagnoses I’ve worked in a wide range of settings including after school, in day care, at home, and in residential facility settings.
I’d love to meet and talk with you about the position. Feel free to follow up with any questions you might have. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jenee Holycross, COTA
